21. 2000 PTO ASSEMBLY:
21.1. Remove both hex washer head screws securing
the 2000 PTO cover to the transmission housing
using a 1/2” socket. See Figure 21.1.
NOTE: Loctite™ the threads and torque them
between 160 and 200 In. Lbs. during assembly.
21.2. Remove the external retaining ring securing the
54T: 2000 PTO pinion gear to the 2000 PTO
shaft using small 45° retaining ring pliers. See
Figure 21.2.

21.3. Remove the 54T: 2000 PTO pinion gear from the
2000 PTO shaft. See Figure 21.3.
NOTE: The 54T: 2000 PTO pinion gear hub
faces the rear of the tractor.
21.4. Remove the shims from the 2000 PTO shaft.
NOTE: Shims must be added between the 54T:
2000 PTO pinion gear and the transmission
housing until the 2000 PTO shaft has approxi-
mately .020” end play.
21.5. Drive the 2000 PTO cover off using a pry bar at
the rear of the 2000 PTO shaft. See Figure 21.5.
NOTE: Apply sealant to the 2000 PTO cover’s
mating face during assembly.
