NOTE: Do not replace both left and right retention clamps at
the same time. The plates attached to the backside of the
board for securing the retention clamps and the screw holes
on the retention clamps may be displaced. Always replace
only one at a time.

Removing the CPU module

For a 2B GHz or 2.40 GHz CPU module

1 Gently pressing the heat sink of the CPU to remove, move the

heat sink lock levers on the left and right of the CPU socket in
the direction of the arrows, and remove the claws to lift up.
After you have finished operating the heat sink lock lever on
the left, operate the heat sink lock lever on the right.

Releasing the heat sink

NOTE: Contact your Toshiba service station or sales
representative if you have problems removing a heat sink.
(Services will be provided for a fee.) Forcibly removing a heat
sink may damage the CPU or CPU socket.
