Removing a memory module
When removing a memory module, first read “Before you start”
of this chapter and follow the instructions mentioned below.
1 If the server is in operation, shut it down and switch off the
power.
2 Unplug the power cable.
NOTE: Removing a memory module while the server is
switched on may cause damage to the server or to the
memory module.
3 Remove the front door and side panels.
See “Removing and replacing the server panels” on page 21.
4 Unfold both the upper and lower hooks of the memory slot and
then remove the memory module.
When unfolding the upper and lower hooks, hold the memory
module by hand to prevent it from jumping out of the memory
slot.

5 Replace the side panel and the front door panel.
6 Plug in the power cable and switch on the server.
