Commonly Asked Technical Support Questions
Refer to the following table for solutions and answers to common
problems and questions concerning the AT-WL2411 unit.
Is the access point fully booted?
When the access point is fully booted, the Power LED remains steady
green and the Wired LAN LED flashes.
The Power LED is not ON.
The access point may have a hardware problem. Do the following:
❑ Make sure the power cable is firmly plugged into the access point
and the power source.
❑ Unplug the access point, and then plug it back into the power
source. Verify that the Power LED remains ON.
❑ Call Allied Telesyn Technical Support.
You cannot configure the access point locally using the serial port.
❑ Verify that you are using a null-modem cable to connect the
access point to your terminal or PC.
❑ Verify that your terminal or PC is set to 9600, N, 8, 1, no flow
control.
❑ Your system may be in autobaud mode. Reboot and press a key
once per second until the signon screen appears.
You cannot ping or Telnet to a new access point.
You must set an IP address and subnet mask using the serial port before
you can remotely connect to the access point.
The Ping Utility screen does not appear when you click a MAC
address or an IP address in the AP Connections screen.
The Web browser you are using does not have Java support. Use Internet
Explorer v3.0 or later or Netscape Communicator v4.0 or later.
You cannot connect to the access point using a Web browser.
If you access the Internet through a proxy server, be sure you have
added the IP address of the access point to the Exceptions list.
