Disk Enclosure Fan Module

A failed fan module should be replaced as soon as possible. There are two fan modules in
the enclosure. If a fan fails, the remaining fan module will maintain proper cooling.
However, if the remaining fan module fails before the defective fan is replaced, the disk
enclosure must be shut down to prevent heat damage.
C AUTION
Do not remove a disk fan module until you a replacement. An empty slot will
disrupt the cooling airflow within the enclosure and may cause overheating.
Removing the Fan Module
1. Loosen the two module locking screws (A in Figure 97 ).
2. Slide the fan module out of the chassis by the pull tab (B).
