Interpreting the Information Tool Information Log
The Information Log contains status and configuration information for all disk array
components. The log is separated into the following sections:
•
Controller Enclosure – information for the components in the disk array controller
enclosure
•
Disk Enclosure(s) – information about the components in the disk enclosure(s),
excluding the disks
•
Map – a graphic layout showing the configuration of the disks enclosures and disks
•
Configuration – information on LUN configuration
•
Disks – information about each disk
Much of the information is self-explanatory, but if you need assistance interpreting any
fields, a complete online description is available by performing the following steps:
1. Run the Information tool on the desired disk array as described in the preceding section.
2. Return to the main STM window and select the Tools menu.
3. Select Information.
4. Select Info. The Information Log Description window is displayed describing each field.
5. Select Done to close the description window.
Interpreting the Information Tool Activity Log
The Information Tool Activity Log allows you to review details of the most recent
execution of the Information tool against a specific device. You can view, save, and print
the contents of the activity log, as desired.
