CAUTION: When using Netscape ® or Mozilla™ in a Solaris™ or HP-UX environment, you must specify the
following settings to start Remote Web Console.
1 Specifying Netscape ® or Mozilla™ used for Remote Web Console.
To start Netscape ® or Mozilla™, create the shell script netscapeforSN as follows:
• Create a shell script named netscapeforSN, and code the following as appropriate for your environment:
LD_LIBRARY_PATH= path-to-Netscape or Mozilla-supported-by-Remote-Web-Console $*
(Enter a single space after LD_LIBRARY_PATH=.)
The following example shows the coding when Netscape
® starts under
/usr/dt/appconfig/netscape/netscape :
#!/usr/bin/sh
LD_LIBRARY_PATH= /usr/dt/appconfig/netscape/netscape $*
• Specify the execution permissions for the shell script netscapeforSN.
• Modify the environment variable PATH so that the shell script netscapeforSN is executed by entering
netscapeforSN
on the command line.
2 Setting up the Netscape ® or Mozilla™ plug-in.
In the plugins directory for Netscape ® or Mozilla™, create a symbolic link to the Java™ plug-in file.
• For Netscape ® in Solaris™:
# cd directory-in-which-Netscape-is-installed/plugins
# ln -s /usr/local/j2re1_4_2/plugin/sparc/ns610/libjavaplugin_oji.so.
• For Mozilla™ in HP-UX:
# cd directory-in-which-Mozilla-is-installed/plugins
# ln -s /opt/java1.4/jre/plugin/PA_RISC/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.sl.
After the setup finishes, restart the browser.

CAUTION: When using an early version of Remote Web Console, the following restrictions apply:
• XP12000/XP10000 with DKC Microcode earlier than 50-04-00:
• Failure status is not displayed.
• Version information is displayed.
• XP1024/XP128 with DKC Microcode SVP version earlier than 21-14-00:
• Failure status is not displayed.
• Version information is displayed.
