Select a sensor type.
•
Continuous - Choose this option if you are using continuous media. No 
further action is required, as continuous media does not require calibration. 
Skip the remaining steps in this procedure.
•
Gap - Choose this option if you are using gap media.
•
Reflective (Bottom) - Choose this option if you are using reflective mark 
media with the mark on the back of the media.
•
Reflective (Top) - Choose this option if you are using reflective mark media 
with the mark on the front of the media.

Locate the media sensor adjustment knob.
Open the cutter cover and locate the sensor.
Turn the knob to adjust the position of the sensor. This position will vary based on 
media type. The reflective mark or gap must be within .295” left or 1.725” right of 
center to be detected by the sensor.
•
Reflective mark media (also called “cue mark” media) - Observe the location 
of the reflective mark on the back of your label media. Position the sensor so 
the mark will pass directly below it as media moves forward.
If the mark spans the entire label width, you can position the sensor anywhere 
over the label.
•
Gap media - Position the sensor so the full horizontal gap on the front of the 
label media will pass directly below it as media moves forward.
If there are no vertical gaps separating multiple-up labels, you can position the 
sensor anywhere over the label.
