7 The new roll of labels must be on a core and be as flat as possible. Tamp the roll
squarely on a sturdy flat surface. Then repeat for the other side of the roll.
Ensure the labels are flat and not rising out of the coil, or “telescoping.” The better
aligned the labels are on the core, the better the printing results.

Slide the roll of labels onto the mandrel. Ensure the roll is positioned so the labels
unwind over the roll and to the right.
