Searching a Registered Dial Code Number by Name (Directory
Dialing)
You can search the fax/telephone numbers registered to the one-touch speed dial codes (MX860 series)
or the coded speed dial codes in alphabetical order.
Note
For the preparations required to send faxes, or the basic procedure for sending faxes using the
Numeric buttons, refer to
Sending Faxes
.
1.
Press the Coded Dial button.
The coded speed dial code list is displayed.
2.
Press the
button to display the directory dialing screen.
The directory dialing screen alternates with the coded speed dial code list each time you press the
button.
3.
Use the Numeric buttons to enter the first letter of the recipient's name you want to
search.
Note
For details on how to enter or delete characters or numbers, refer to
Specifying the Basic
Settings for the Machine
.
The recipients' names are sorted in alphabetical order.
Note
You can enter the following characters using the Numeric buttons.
A, D, G, J, M, P, T, W
If the entered character does not match the first character of any of the recipients' name
registered to the speed dial codes, names beginning with the character closest to that entered
are displayed.
4.
Use the
button to select the recipient's name, then press the
OK
button.
5.
Press the Color button for color transmission, or the Black button for black & white
transmission.
Important
Color transmission is available only when the recipient's fax machine supports color faxing.
