Warning:
The FlowShark IS Model 5000-IS1 may only
use the 9-volt (ADS p/n 106152) or 12-volt (ADS p/n
8000-0043-01/02) battery pack to power the monitor. DO
NOT use any other battery pack or power source to power
the Model 5000-IS1!
FlowShark IS 9-volt (left – ADS p/n 106152) and 12-volt (right – ADS p/n
8000-0043-01) battery packs
Replacing the battery pack in the monitor is a relatively easy
process. However, this process may involve a simple conversion
and/or a few additional steps and parts based on the current battery
type and future needs. Earlier FlowShark IS monitors have the
original 9-volt battery pack; however, more recent models may have
the newer 12-volt battery pack that provides a longer battery life.
While both battery packs are still available, ADS also offers a
simple conversion kit for upgrading an existing FlowShark IS
monitor equipped with a 9-volt battery pack to the 12-volt battery
pack. The conversion kit (ADS p/n 5000-0780-01) includes a 12-
volt battery pack, a special retainer plug, and a slightly longer
canister.
The following procedure includes detailed instructions on replacing
the battery pack in the monitor. These instructions apply regardless
of the particular battery pack in use and include the extra steps
required when performing the conversion from the 9-volt to 12-volt
battery pack.
