Terminology
Throughout this guide, the term Layer 2, is used to indicate
switching capabilities. For example, Layer 2 Supervisor Module,
indicates a supervisor module that enables switching.
The term, Layer 3 refers to the combined ability to switch and route.
For example, the name, Layer 3 supervisor module, indicates a
supervisor module that provides switching and routing capabilities.
