Saving Configuration Changes
When you are done configuring the access point, you may want to activate
your changes immediately or you may want to save the changes now and
activate them later. If you choose to activate the changes later, they will
become active the next time the access point is booted.
Note
For the 802.11g radio, when you configure some of the advanced
configuration parameters, you can immediately activate the changes
without rebooting the access point. For instructions, see “Applying
Hot Settings” on page 110.
Using a Web
Browser
Interface
1. On the menu bar, click Save/Discard Changes.
Table 11. Access Point Configuration Files
Configuration File
Description
Default
This configuration file is the factory default
configuration. For help, see “Restoring the
Access Point to the Default Configuration” on
page 243.
Current
When you click Submit Changes, the access
point updates the current configuration file. The
access point does not change the active
configuration file. You can see a list of pending
changes when you click Save/Discard Changes.
Having separate files for the current and active
configurations lets you make changes while the
access point is running without interrupting
communication.
Active
When you click Save/Discard Changes > Save
Changes and Reboot, the access point copies
the current configuration file to the active
configuration file. The active configuration file is
the file that the access point uses.
