Parameters
port
Specifies the port you want to configure. You can
specify more than one port at a time, but the ports
must be of the same medium type. For example, you
cannot configure twisted pair and fiber optic ports
with the same command. You can specify the ports
individually (for example, 5,7,22), as a range (for
example, 18-23), or both (for example, 1,5,14-22).
description
Specifies a name or description for the port. The
name can be from one to fifteen alphanumeric
characters. Spaces are allowed, but you should not
use special characters, such as asterisks or
exclamation points. If the name contains spaces, it
must be enclosed in double quotes. Otherwise, the
quotes are optional.
status
Specifies the operating status of the port. Possible
settings are:
enabled The
port
forwards Ethernet frames.
This is the default setting.
disabled
The port does not forward frames.
