8 Troubleshooting and Maintenance

When printing on
both sides of the
page, the print
quality is reduced,
pages curl, or
duplexing results in
incorrect or
multiple page
feeds.
When you print on both sides, there will be
a difference in the way the product
performs. You may also experience
incorrect or multiple feeds.
Instead of duplexing manually, use the
Layout (Pages-per-Sheet or N-Up) feature
in the program from which you are
printing, if available. See the program’s
documentation for information.
Allow sheet to cool and flatten before
printing the second side.
Make sure the leading edge of sheets are
not bent or curled.
To minimize curl, set the paper path lever
to the lower position (for front paper output
slot. This allows a straight-through paper
path.
If all printed pages are printing with poor
quality, frequent duplexing might be the
cause. See “Using a cleaning page” on
page 219.
The HP LaserJet
3150 product isn’t
working.
The HP LaserJet 3150 product may not
be receiving power.
The computer’s processor is too busy.
The hard drive on the computer may be
very full or is fragmented.
Check that all cords are plugged in at the
HP LaserJet 3150 product and the
computer and that they are plugged into a
live power outlet or power strip.
Also, try removing the power cord from the
back of the HP LaserJet 3150 product and
then reinserting it. If the Ready message
is displayed on the control panel, the
HP LaserJet 3150 product is receiving
power.
Try running fewer programs at the same
time on the computer. Do not perform I/O
or processor-intensive tasks (such as
sending a fax or playing a video game) on
the computer while printing.
Free disk space or defragment the hard
drive. See the computer documentation
for help.
