UPS

Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) unit that provides backup power for IOAM enclosures.

NOTE:

OSM supports SNMP card versions up to and including v3.20.

Location in OSM Tree: System > Monitored Service LAN Devices > UPS

Attributes

UPS

Displayed in the Attributes tab and Attributes dialog box only if the value is something other than
OK.

Values

Service State

Physical

Indicates the current status of the UPS battery. Possible values are Normal and On Battery.

OSM displays a yellow alarm if the UPS goes On Battery (or starts drawing power from the battery).
This alarm goes away when the UPS stops drawing power from the battery. OSM displays a red
alarm when the battery power is low.

Battery Status

Indicates whether the UPS is up or down.

Device Status

Version of the firmware on the UPS SNMP card.

Firmware Version

Displays additional information about the UPS as set by super-user in the web interface (see the

Link to Web Interface

action). Up to 20 characters are allowed.

Identificaton Information

The IP address of the UPS.

IP Address

The unique number assigned to the UPS in manufacturing. Knowing the serial number is especially
helpful when you need to replace batteries or required other service.

Serial Number

Displays the version of the UPS software.

Software Version

Displays the UPS model version.

Example: R5500 XR

Type

Displays the physical location of the UPS as set by the super-user in the

Link to Web Interface

action.

UPS Location

This is the apparent power rating of the UPS, expressed in Volt-Amperes.

Example: 12000 VA

Launches a browser-based configuration interface for the UPS, which provides additional information and configuration
options for the UPS.

Rediscover

Causes OSM to refresh and reanalyze the object. Refresh refers to OSM updating the attribute values displayed in
the OSM Service Connection interface. Reanalyze refers to the running of OSM incident analysis, which checks EMS
event messages and creates alarms in OSM if certain conditions exist.

Stop Monitoring

Stops OSM from monitoring the UPS.
