Service Processor (SP)
The service processor (SP) controls environmental and maintenance functions and acts as the master of the serial
maintenance bus (SMB). The service processor is a physical component of
) CRUs.
Location in OSM Tree: System > Group > Module > PMF2 > SP
Slot Location: Service processors are located on the PMF CRUs and IOMF CRUs in slots 50 and 55 of processor and
I/O enclosures (service side).
Example: SP (1.1.50)
Attributes
SP
Displayed in the Attributes tab and Attributes dialog box only if the value is something
other than OK.
Service State
Logical
The maximum processor configuration for the service processor.
Current Topology
The state of the service processor:
Active (Primary): This is the active SP and it is available.
Active (Secondary): This is not the active SP, but it is available.
Firmware Update Mode: An SP firmware update is in progress.
In Test: Temporary state during power-on self-test.
Initializing: Temporary state during startup.
SP Stopped Responding to Peer:
Device State
The IP address of the service processor.
IP Address
Indicates whether this service processor is the master service processor on the
system:
True: This is the master service processor.
False: This is not the master service processor.
Master SP
Indicates whether the SP firmware was loaded from its own (local), the peer's, or
the backup flash memory.
Running Image Source
The maximum processor configuration for the service processor that is set the next
time the system or enclosure is powered on.
Stored Topology
The date and time that the service processor was last reset.
Time of Last Reset
This attribute is displayed only within the Multi-Resource Actions dialog box, to
indicate whether the SP is on the X or Y ServerNet fabric.
Fabric Side
SP Firmware
The VPROC of the firmware currently loaded on the service processor.
Version
The name of the file to be used for the service processor firmware update.
(SPCODE9)
Default File Name
The version of the firmware to be used for a firmware update .
Default File Version
The differences, if any, between the current and default firmware versions.
Compare State
SCSI Boot Code Firmware
These attributes are displayed only for SPs located in PMF or PMF2 CRUs; not for those in IOMF or IOMF2 CRUs.
The version of the firmware running on the SCSI controller on the PMF CRU that
contains the service processor.
Version
The name of the file to be used for the SCSI Boot Code firmware update.
Default File Name
The version of the firmware to be used for the SCSI Boot Code firmware update.
