As with rarp, the TROY XCD print server will load its
IP address from the BOOTP server when the printer is
powered on.
Configuring the TROY XCD Print Server IP
Address with NCP, XCONFIG, or the Serial
Port
Users of DEC and Novell computers have additional
alternatives for configuring the TROY XCD print
server IP address by using the remote console facility,
while XConnect II, Pony 100, and XConnect 100 users
can also utilize the serial port. On VMS systems, you
will need to have DECNET running in order to use the
remote console. The procedure is as follows:
a. Connect to the remote console or serial port (see
chapter 2 for information on the serial port). If
you are using the remote console with VMS or
ULTRIX, you will need to know the circuit ID
(EWA-0 for Alpha PCI systems, QNA-0 for Q-BUS
systems, SVA-0 for DEC workstations, UNA-0 for
UNIBUS systems, BNA-0 for BI systems, and
MNA-0 for XMI systems; you can get the circuit
ID by executing the VMS NCP command
