Pearl Mini User Guide
Set up a channel for a scheduled webcasting event
that event. If the primary URL stream fails for any reason, Kaltura automatically switches over to the backup
URL.
The channel you're streaming should have at least one layout, see
. For the correct encoding
settings to use for the channel, see Kaltura's
.
During the webcast, you can switch layouts using Pearl Mini for a more dynamic live broadcast. For
information about creating layouts for a channel and switching, see:
You can start a scheduled webcasting event before the scheduled start time using the touch screen on Pearl
Mini or the Admin panel.
You can preview the channel that is included for a scheduled webcasting event from the Events
touch screen, see
.
Important considerations
l
The streamed content for a channel won't upload to Kaltura if AFU is disabled for that channel. If a new
channel is created when CMS is enabled on Pearl Mini, AFU is disabled by default for that channel. You
must manually enable AFU for the new channel before it can be used for a webcasting event.
l
Ensure that the same audio sources are selected on each layout if the channel is configured with
multiple layouts for live switching.
To set up a channel in Pearl Mini for a scheduled webcasting event using the Admin panel:
1. Login to the Admin panel as
admin
.
