Configure SIP

Parameters

Gather the above information before configuring SIP. To configure SIP
parameters, type “C” on the SIP Management menu (Figure 4.91) and
respond to the prompts. Type to keep the current value. When
entering information on a per-port basis, press to indicate that you
have completed your changes.

Display SIP

Parameters

Type “I” on the SIP Management menu (Figure 4.91) to display the
configured SIP parameters.

Config Individual SIP

Parameters

Type “N” on the SIP Management (Figure 4.91) menu to display Individual
SIP parameters. This allows individual setting of parameters needed for SIP.

CODEC Selection

Menu

Type “E” on the SIP Management menu (Figure 4.91) to select the CODEC
option you wish to use. The default is G.729a. The use of 726 and 729a are
mutually exclusive; the IAD will configure only one or the other.

Display SIP Statistics

Type “S” on the SIP Management menu (Figure 4.91) to display the endpoint
(line) and connection statistics. If no calls are active, the IAD indicates
whether or not the endpoint is currently connected to its Notified Entity.

If SIP configuration is not correct, the IAD displays a message warning you
that the configuration is invalid and intialization is incomplete.

Debug SIP Application

Type “D” on the SIP Management menu (Figure 4.91) to choose the SIP
debug mode level, a value from 1 to 3, where 1 gives no SIP debug output, 2
gives SIP messages, and 3 gives verbose SIP debug output. Use only at the
direction of Verilink Technical Support.

Port Administration

Type “A” on the SIP Management menu (Figure 4.91) to display the Port
Administration Menu (Figure 4.92).
