of 4L0 is to have your vehicle moving 1 or 2 mph
(1.6 to 3.2 knVh}. Turn lha knod to 4HI, A4WD or 2HI.
You must wait tor the 4HI, A4WD or 2HI inrficalor light to
stop flashing and remain Hfumirgted before shifting
your transmission into gear.
If the 4HI, A4WD or 2HI knob is lumed when your
vehrclfl is in gear and/or moving, the 4HI, A4WD or
2H| indicaloi fight will flash lor 3d secioncfe but will
no! completa the shift unless yoer vehicle Is moving
less than 2 rmph (3.2 knvh} with the Iransrnission
in NEUTFlAL
Shifting into NEUTRAL
Before shlfbng the transfar case to NEUTRAL, first
make sure the vehicle is parked so that it will not notl,
1. Set the parking brake.
2. Start the vehicle.
3. Connect the vehicle to the towrng vehicle.
4. Put the trensmission in Í4EUTRAL (N),
5. Shift lha trqnsler case to 2HI.
Shifting Out of 4LO 6. Turn The transfer case knob all at the way past 4L0
and hold iL thera tor a minimum of 10 seconds. The
neutral indicator ligtil will come on.
7, Shift the transmission to REVERSE (R) lor one
second, then shift the fransmission to DRIVE (D)
for one second.
S. Place the !ransimission shill l&ver in PARK (P).
9. Turn Ihe ignition to LOCK
10. Release the parking brake prior to towing.
Shitting Out of NEUTRAL
To shift Ihe transfer case out oi NEUTRAL, do the
following:
1. Set the parking brake and apply the regular brake
pedal.
2. Siart the vehicle with the [ransmission m PARK (P),
3. Turn the transfer case knob to the desired ahift
position [2HI, 4 HI or A4 WO).
4 Put ihe transmission In NEUTRAL (N).
5. After the transfer case has shtfled out at NEUTRAL,
Ihe Indicator light wifi go out. Shift the hansmission
lever 10 Ihe desired position.
A re-engagement sound is normal when shifting out of
NEUTRAL.
