Using RDS

System {RDS) RDS features are availatote for use only
on FM slflLons that braadoasT RDE infanmahoni
Using this system, ihe radio can cto the lollcnAring;
• Seek to stations broadcasting the s&lected type of
programming,
• receive anrouncerríents солсегпнпд local and
national emergencies,
• display messages from radio stations,, and
• seek to stations with traffic announcements.
This system relies upon receiving specific information
from these stations and will only work when the
Intonrialion is available, Ir^ rare cases, a radio station
may broadcast incorrocl inlgrmatiari That wilf cause
the radio featores to work improperly, li this happens,
contact the radio station.
While you are tuned to an RDS station, the slahon
name or the call lettars will appear on the display instead
of the frequency, RDS stations may also provide the
Time of day^ a program type [PTYJ Iqr curren!
programming and the name of the program being
broadcast.
Finding a PTY Station
To select and find a daslred PTY perform the following:
U Press the Р-ТУРЕ bulTon P-TYPE and the last
selected PTY will be displayed on the screen.
£. Select a calegory by turning (he P-TYPE knob.
â. Once the desired catogary is displayed, press either
SEEK arrow to select the calegory and take you to
the category's first station.
4. If you want to go to another slafion within lhal
calegory and the category is displayed, press
either SEEK arrow once, ff the calegory is not
displayed, press either SEEK arrow twice lo display
the category and Ihgn to go lo another station.
E. If PTY times out and is no longer on Ihe display,
go back lo Slep l.
If both P-TVPE and TRAP ara on, the radio will search
for stations with the selected PTV and traffic
announcements.
To use the PTY ir>terrupt leature, press and hold (he
P-TVPE bütlon unül you hear a beep on the PTY
you want to inierrupt with, When selected, an asterisk
will appear beside that PTY on the display. You
may sfliget multiple internjpts if desired. When you are
listening lo a compact disc, (he last selected RDS
slalion will fntemipt play if fhal selecled program type
format is broadcast.
