Nona: Don't try to shift To PARK {P) if your
vehicle is moving. It you do, you could damage the
transmission. Shift to PARK (P) onty when your
vehicle is stopped.
1 With your foot off Ihg accelerator pedal, turn the
igmlon key to START* When Ihe engine starts,
let go of the key, The idle speed will go down as
your Br>gina gats warm.
Nottc&T Holding your key In START for longer then
15 seconds at a time will causa your battery to
be drained much sooner. And the excessive heat
can damage your starter motor. Al 15 seconds, the
starter wilt automatically be diserrgaged. Wall
about
15 seconds between each try to help avoid
draining your battery or damaging your starter*
2. If it doesn't stad within to seconds, push the
accelerator pedal all the way to the rtoor, while you
hold the ignition key rn START* Whan the engjne
starts, lei go of the key and let up on the accelerator
pedal. Wait about 15 seconds between each try.
When starting your engine In very cold wgather
(betow 0“F or do this:
1 With your fool off the accelerator pedal, turn the
rgnition key lü STABT and hold it there up lo
15 SBconds. When the engine starts, let go ol
the key.
2, If youT engine stiil won't start {or starts but ihen
stops), it could be flooded with too much gasoline.
Try pu&hing your accelerator pedal all the way to ihe
floor and holding ¡1 there as you hold the key in
START for about three seconds. When Ihe engine
starts, let go o! the key and accelerator, II the
vehicle starts briefly bul then stops again* do the
same thing, but this tima keep the pedal down
for five or six seconds. This dears the extra
gasoline frorn Ihe engine

might not perform properly.
