IMPORTANT: Prior to performing this section,
perform the Control Valve Removal section.
1. Remove all four hex cap screws and lock nuts
securing the stripper sides to the hydraulic cyl-
inder using a 9/16" socket and a 9/16" wrench.
See Figure 6-141.
2. Remove the large hex cap screw and lock nut
securing the hydraulic piston to the wedge
assembly using a 3/4" socket and a 3/4"
wrench. See Figure 6-142.
3. Support the hydraulic cylinder from below.
4. Remove the large cotter pin and large clevis
pin securing the hydraulic cylinder housing to
the beam assembly using a pair of pliers. See
Figure 6-143.
NOTE
Make certain the hydraulic cylinder is secure.
5. Remove the hydraulic cylinder and place it on
a work bench.
NOTE
The front to back orientation of the cylinder is
now—(piston rod—Front) and (Hydraulic cylin-
der rear port—Back)
6. Slowly tap the rod cap inward until the large
cylinder retaining ring is fully exposed using a
wooden dowel and a small hammer. See Fig-
ure 6-144.
