12. Grasp the control valve assembly and rotate it
to the vertical position with the kickoff valve
spool bracket end down.
13. Apply light pressure to the control valve hous-
ing until the kickoff valve spool comes free of
the valve housing.
14. Remove the control valve spool from the con-
trol valve housing and set it vertically on the
control lever end. See Figure 6-132.
15. Press the large center detent ball inward while
slowly removing the detent selector collar from
the assembly.
NOTE
Make certain all four small detent balls are
accounted for.
16. Remove all four balls from the detent sub-
assembly using a small screw driver. See Fig-
ure 6-133.
NOTE
Lubricate all four balls with grease to ease
reinstallation.
17. Remove the large center detent ball from
the detent sub-assembly.
18. Remove the small compression spring from
the detent sub-assembly.
19. Remove the large spacer from the assembly.
20. Remove the detent sub-assembly from the
control valve spool using two drift punches
(one on each end), turning in opposite direc-
tions. See Figure 6-134.
NOTE
Loctite the detent sub-assembly to the kickoff
valve spool during assembly.
