Log Splitter Hydraulic Pump Removal
IMPORTANT: Make certain the log splitter is
locked into the horizontal position. See Figure
6-93.
1. Loosen the hose clamp securing the suction
hose to hydraulic gear pump inlet using a 5/16"
socket or a flat-blade screw driver. See Figure
6-94.

Remove the pipe plug from the reservoir fill
port using a 5/8" wrench.
NOTE
This will allow the hydraulic fluid to drain eas-
ier. See Figure 6-95
3. Remove the suction hose from the hydraulic
gear pump and drain all the hydraulic fluid into
an oil drain container.
4. Grasp the hitch coupler and tilt the log splitter
rearward to allow easy access to the hydraulic
gear pump.
5. Loosen the hose clamp securing the suction
hose to the reservoir assembly using a 5/16"
socket.
6. Remove the suction hose and set it aside. See
Figure 6-96.
7. Remove the high pressure hydraulic hose at
the 45 degree elbow (gear pump side), and
lower it into an oil drain container using two
7/8" wrenches.
