Safety Configuration and Verification
Configure the Safe Speed Monitoring Drive
The drive is configured in the Safe State. The drive must be unlocked to be
configured. If a password exists, you must provide the password to unlock the
drive.
Follow these steps to configure the drive.
1. If the drive safety configuration is locked, you can unlock the
configuration by clicking Unlock in the Safety Main tab.
If an error occurs, you need to enter the password.
2. Edit parameters to meet your system configuration specification and risk
assessment requirements.
3. When you are finished editing parameters, click Apply.
A Configuration Signature ID is generated and displayed in the Safety
Main tab. The Configuration Signature ID is also displayed across the
drive four-character display for 20 seconds after configuration is applied.
4. Enter the password, if required.
5. Click Lock, in the Safety Main tab, to lock the safety configuration.

Project Verification Test
To check that the drive’s configuration adheres to the application specification,
you must generate a suitable set of test cases covering the application. The set of
test cases must be filed and retained as the test specification. You must include a
set of tests to prove the validity of the safety configuration parameters.
You must perform a complete functional test of the entire system before the
operational startup of a safety-related system.
