Figure 1 View of configuration in menu Message-bridge.
If you are connected to the PbX via port with authentication, basically you don't see tab Database,
which can be used for direct configuration. If you want to see it, you have to assign rights for reading
and writing for this user. It could be done within the menu
Users – Users rights
. Another possibility
is to connect to your PbX via port without authentication. In such a case you expose your PbX to
danger of unauthorized access. Access to database isn't necessary and it should be used only by
experienced technicians.
As you can see on figure 1, you are able to define other parameters for each port (except
authorization requirement).
HeartBeat packets – Enable or disable sending of keep alive packets on this port. Packets are used
for communication preserving.
HeartBeat interval – It defines time interval between keep alive packets.
5.2.5 System
Communication ports
From firmware version 2.3.0 are ports 22 (SSH) and 23 (TELNET) in the default configuration closed,
because of improvement of the system security. Whenever you want, you are able to open each port
via console or via this configuration tool. If you decide to open some of these ports, we strongly
advise to change your password! Command syntax for password changing is following:
passwd root
This password will be changed regardless of original password. If you forget this password, you can
change it in the same way whenever you want. The only thing you have to know is your login name
to console.
Menu System
If you need to open or close access to some of these servers via configuration tool, you have to go to
menu
Network – Service setting – System
. Using simple option Enabled or Disabled you can
open or close access to concrete server. Meaning of particular options is following:
Internal server of Assistant – This option is used when you want to open or close access to the
web server of Assistant (user web application).
Telnet server – This option is used when you want to open or close access to the system via Telnet
protocol.
SSH server – his option is used when you want to open or close access to the system via SSH
protocol.
