5.1 Network interface
In the menu
Network – Network interface
you can manage all network interfaces, which are
present in the PbX. In addition to CPU interface are there ethernet interfaces of Surf boards. Bit rare
of all interfaces is 100 Mbit/s. This interfaces are used for communication with PbX, SMTP clients and
for signalling and RTP streams of VoIP calls. After opening menu

on the left side displayed list of ethernet interfaces of the PbX. On the right side of the menu you can
set up selected interface. In the case of ethernet interface of CPU are options following:
Get IP address from DHCP server – With this option you can enable getting IP settings from DHCP
server automatically. In this case are following sections inactive.
Use the following IP address – With this option you can enable following sections for setting of
static IP address and DNS servers.
IP address – It defines static IP address for this interface.
Subnet mask – It defines bit mask of the subnet.
Default gateway – It defines IP address of the router or PC through which PbX communicates with
outside of LAN.
Addresses of DNS servers
Prefered server – It defines IP address of primary DNS server.
Spare server – It defines IP address of secondary DNS server.
Host name – It defines host name of the PbX.
Domain name – It defines domain name of the PbX.
Description – This field has only informative character.
Producer – This field has only informative character.
5.2 Services Setting
5.2.1 Electronic mail (SMTP)
SMTP
Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) is the internet protocol used for e-mail transmissions across
the Internet between clients and server. Protocol provides delivery via direct connection between
sender and receiver.
SMTP clients
The PbX NETSTAR can dispose of more than one ethernet interface. For communication with SMTP
server is always used ethernet interface of the CPU board. In the menu
Global data – SMTP clients
you can create SMTP clients, which can later connect to SMTP servers and send e-mails. For correct
function of the service Voicemail you have to set up not only SMTP server, but also users e-mail
addresses.
