Copy the FW2 firmware upgrade file from the computer to the USB drive. 3.
Ensure that the EZ−Boom 2010 system is correctly connected to the lightbar. 4.
Insert the USB drive into the lightbar and then turn on the lightbar. 5.
The lightbar automatically detects the new EZ−Boom firmware and asks if you want to install it.
Note: If the EZ−Boom controller is not detected, the lightbar will not show the firmware file.
Upgrading Lightbar Functionality
To upgrade the lightbar functionality, for example to enable RTK functionality, enter an upgrade password.
When you purchase an upgrade from your local reseller, you receive an upgrade password. To enter it:
Select Configuration / System / Password Upgrade. The Password Upgrade screen appears. 1.
Press the button. The Enter Password screen appears. 2.
Enter the password. 3.
Select and then press . A screen with an hourglass appears for a few seconds and then one of the
following messages appears:

Password upgrade successful. The upgrade was successful. The EZ−Guide 500 will now be restarted to
take advantage of the new feature.

Press . The lightbar restarts with the new functionality enabled.
Password upgrade failed. The password entered was not valid.

Try entering the password again. If it fails again, contact your local reseller.
