For a channel to be available it cannot be:
• Already associated to another tab, if it has already been
allocated an error message appears
• Controlled by another device, if this a shared control
between IP Director and another device, it is possible to
regain control from the contextual menu by selecting the ‘2nd
controller’ item in the menu. If the item is checked, it means
the control has been given to the 2nd controller device. If it
is unchecked, it means the IP Director has the control of the
channel. This item is only available for selection in the menu
when the channel is configured in ‘Exclusive’ mode;
otherwise it is greyed and unavailable.
A channel that has been designated as a preview channel in the
Channel Explorer
If the tab is an on-air play-list a warning will be given before the
allocation is allowed.
If the channel to be allocated is on the same XT server as the
play-list is stored on, the allocation will be allowed, but if it is on
a different XT server the dialogue offers a choice of whether to
move or copy the play-list to the new server.
