7.26. Optical Gigabit Switch(OGS)
Overview
The Optical Gigabit Switch (OGS) provides Ethernet connection to
each node in a STM-4 Ring topology. OGS can be used with
SM4 module and connected by gigabit Ethernet backplane bus or
play as an aggregator to aggregate Ethernet traffic to BRAS.

Application
The OGS can be used as the uplink interface in IP framework.
When SM4 Ring requires broadband service, OGS is
recommended to be used as the uplink interface to provide
enough bandwidth in SM4 ring.
