7.6. Main Processing Module (MPM)
Overview
The Main Processing Module (MPM) provides main control functions for
MSAP2000. Each of MSAP2000’s nodes will need at least one MPM
card. Each MPM works in the same way; meaning that any MPM can
manage and control any other node within the same Network. For
provisioning, however, it is required to initialize only at COT.
The MPM provides the MSAP2000 System with the following control
functions: synchronization clock, Module control, Timeslot control,
Performance Monitoring, Alarms and Alarm Reporting, System database
maintenance, and LCT and NMS management.
