7.22. U Interface Network Terminal Module (ISDN-U LUNT)
Overview
The U Interface Network Terminal Module (LUNT) provides functions that are
similar to a NT1 Slave Digital Subscriber Line Emission Device. It is
installed in the COT, and can connect to the Exchange LT, to provide signal
conversion for MSAP COT trunk interface signals, and 2B1Q DSL signals.
Together with the LULT Module on the RT, LUNT can provide ISDN service
to cover extended distances.

Application
The LUNT is used when the ISDN switch provides the BRI at the central office
and MSAP2000 serves as the loop extender for the subscriber out of the
reach of the ISDN switch.
