6.5. Ethernet over SDH Design
MSAP2000’s C/REoSM combines two Protocols: ITU-T G.7041
Generic Frame Procedure (GFP). Operators may select to use either
GFP or LAPS via LCT of OptiCore NMS.
CEoSM Function
CEoSM supports the following functions:
1 Port 10/100 Mbps Ethernet comply with IEEE802.3
Layer 2 Switch
ITU-T G.7041 Generic Frame Procedure
REoSM Function
REoSM supports the following functions:
8 Port 10/100 Mbps Ethernet comply with IEEE802.3
Layer 2 Switch
ITU-T G.7041 Generic Frame Procedure
AAM (IP-Based
ADSL)
MSAP2000’s AAM provides IP-based ADSL services. Each AAM will
support 12 ADSL2/2+ interfaces, and can share 100 Mbps bandwidth.
When the RT uses OIM as its transmission trunk interface, ADSL
service can only be provided through the REoSM module, as shown
below. Each REosM can connect to 8 AAM/ESM cards at most,
which will allow 96 ADSL interfaces to share 100 Mbps of bandwidth.
10/100Mbps
Ethernet over
SDH
Besides having an AAM that is capable of supporting IP-based
ADSL2/2+ over SDH, MSAP2000’s EoSM can connect to the ESM, to
support 8 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interfaces. It can provide connection
to PCs or Notebooks via CAT5, to provide up to 100 Mbps of
broadband service.
