Applying the View Assistance Function
1 Select > [ ¢ Monitoring Setup] > one of the [View Assist:] settings > [On] or [On (BT.709)].
• The view assistance function is applied and the gamma curve and color space of the displayed image will
change.
• The signal output will use narrow range (video range) coding.
• You can also adjust this setting using direct touch control (

• When only one option is available, it will be grayed out.
NOTES
• Setting [View Assist: HDMI] to [On (BT.709)] disables the > [ ¢ Monitoring Setup] > [Range: HDMI]
setting.
• The colors modified by using this function are an approximation, and differ from the colors obtained when you
set [Gamma/Color Space] in the custom picture file (
A
129) to [Wide DR / BT.709].
• The colors in the dark areas / highlights of the image may not be displayed accurately.
Adju s ting the Gain Difference When Converting HDR to SDR
When you select a view assistance setting for which the gain value can be set, or a setting that converts the
color of proxy recordings*, you can adjust the difference in gain between the SDR output relative to the HDR
image.
* When the view assistance/[Proxy Rec Color Conversion] is set to [BT.709] and the [Gamma/Color Space] setting in the custom
picture file is set to [PQ / BT.2020] or [HLG / BT.2020], or when the [Gamma/Color space] setting after applying a Look File is set
to [HDR PQ (BT.2100)] or [HDR HLG (BT.2100)].
