9.2 Controlling debugging
The major blocks of the ARM720T processor are:
ARM CPU core This has hardware support for debug.
EmbeddedICE-RT macrocell
A set of registers and comparators that you use to generate debug
exceptions (such as breakpoints). This unit is described in The
EmbeddedICE-RT macrocell on page 9-10.
TAP controller Controls the action of the scan chains using a JTAG serial
interface. For more details, see The TAP controller on page 9-19.
These blocks are shown in Figure 9-2.
