Appendix B - Creating and editing pages in Xplay
• You can automatically save the new shared asset to the Xmedia Server’s
P AGES root category and then append/insert the page into the playlist that is
currently loaded in the Playlist Editor. Simply set the E NABLE I NSERT P AGE
AFTER S ELECTED button (see figure 7-5 ), and then click the S AVE P AGE , I NSERT
IN P LAYLIST button . The new shared page is immediately saved to the
Xmedia Server using the template’s name appended with a timestamp, and
then the page is added to the playlist.
N OTE
When Xplay’s Playlist Editor is in the ByDevice playlist view, the new shared page is
immediately appended or inserted into the device’s playlist as assigned by the template’s
T
ARGET D EVICE property, which is set in Xstudio when the template is created. If the
template’s T ARGET D EVICE property was not specified (empty), then the page is appended
or inserted into the first device’s playlist.
6. Optional: Create additional new shared pages either based on the same or a different
template that is stored on the Xmedia Server. Repeat this step as for as many new
shared pages that you want to create.
• To create a new shared page based on the same template as before, edit the
page’s editable fields and then click the N EW P AGE button . The P AGE N OT
S AVED dialog box appears and asks you if you want to save the current page.
Click Y ES . The new shared page is immediately saved to the Xmedia Server
using the template’s name appended with a timestamp.
• To create a new shared page based on a different template that is stored on the
Xmedia Server, close the page’s dialog box by clicking the C LOSE button .
Use the S ELECT A TEMPLATE FOR THE NEW GRAPHIC dialog box once again to
select a template upon which to based the new page. Edit the template’s
variable fields and save the page according to the instructions in step 5.
Once you are finished creating and/or adding new shared pages to the playlist, return
to your Xplay session by simply closing the page’s and the S
ELECT A TEMPLATE FOR
THE NEW GRAPHIC dialog boxes.
