Record Error Conditions
The following error conditions abnormally terminate the record operation:
• The device is powered off and on (POR) during a record operation - All keystroke sequences
entered during the record operation are lost and the PF key is unassigned. If keystrokes
were previously assigned to this key, they are unassigned to the key.
• The record operation exhausts the allocated feature memory - The keystroke sequences
recorded up to the point of failure are saved and assigned to the PF key.
• The user enters an illegal record sequence - The keystroke sequences recorded up to the
point of failure are saved and assigned to the PF key.
When a Record/Playback error condition occurs, X-? and one of the following error messages
are displayed on the operator status row:

Playing Back Key Functions
Key functions processed during playback are subject to the same requirements as keys input
from the keyboard. For example, data keys entered in protected fields or on attributes, whether
entered directly or through a playback operation, cause an inhibit condition.
The Caps Lock state during playback must be the same as the Caps Lock state during record.
Note: Caps Lock keys within the recorded string may cause the display station to inherit a
different Caps Lock state after Playback is completed.
A playback sequence can be a local playback sequence or a global sequence. A local playback
sequence is a recorded sequence that your define for your own use. A global playback sequence
is a recorded sequence that the system manager defines for all users. A local sequence has
precedence over a global sequence assigned to the same PF key.
To playback a key sequence, follow these steps:
1. Press the Playback key. P? is displayed on the operator status row.
2. Press the PF key to which the key sequence is assigned.
