If your session is configured to display RTM data, one of the following is displayed on

the status line:

:

9:26 means 9 minutes and 26 seconds

:

08.2 means 8 and 2 tenths seconds

If your display station is not authorized to display RTM data, the following symbol is

displayed in the operator information area:

:

3. To clear the LTTI from your status line, press the LTTI key combination again.

• Total Time – The total response time is kept on a per-LU basis. If host support is enabled,

this time is sent inbound to an SNA host requesting RTM data for an LU. It is cleared upon
request from the host. If host support is NOT enabled, the total time may be reset from the
Display/Update RTM logs utility.

• Counters – RTM counters are used to count the number of host transactions for which the

response time was less than a configured boundary. Five counters are kept for every LU as
shown in the following diagram. The boundaries are set in configuration or by the host if
host support is enabled.

Boundaries

When a host transaction is ended, the response time is compared with the first boundary. If the
response time is less than or equal to the boundary, then the first counter is incremented. If the
response time is greater than the first boundary, the second boundary is checked, and so on
until all boundaries have been checked. If the response time does not fit into any of the
boundaries, the overflow counter is incremented to indicate that the response time was greater
than the largest configured boundary.

If host support is enabled, the RTM counters are sent inbound to an SNA host requesting RTM
data for an LU. They are cleared if:

• an RTM request is received with a request vector containing a reset indication.

• a host request is received that changes the RTM boundaries or definition for an LU.

• LINCS sent unsolicited RTM data to the host. For example, upon unbind or counter overflow.

If host support is NOT enabled, the counters may be viewed or reset from the Display/Update
RTM logs utility.
