10. Management Features

LINCS Central Control mode provides many utilities for configuring and managing your LINCS
node. The following devices may access the Central Control Utility:

• Any CUT device (Network or Direct)

• Limited Access Devices (TELNET or Serial Port Access)

• Netview’s Central Site Control Facility

Central Control access is available anytime the LINCS node is operational. Communications
remain active for all sessions except the one that is actually accessing the Central Control
Utilities. Any CUT session may access the Central Control utility although for security reasons,
some of the utilities require Supervisor Authority and/or a password.

The Configuration and Central Control Manuals list all of the utilities which are available and
describes them in detail.

Configuration

The Configuration utility is available in Central Control Mode, and allows you to reconfigure
your LINCS node without affecting normal operations. Once the configuration changes are
saved, the Apply Configuration Changes panel is available, where you can apply the changes
in one of the following manners.

• You may apply all of the changes immediately, by setting the IML Option to “IML Now”.

• You may apply all of the changes at a scheduled time, by setting the IML Option to “IML

Later”, and specifying a data and time to IML.

• You may apply some changes immediately “without” IMLing, by selecting “Immediate”

for the options which are listed on the “Apply Configuration Changes” panel.

Refer to the Configuration and Central Control Manuals for details on the Configuration
procedures.
