A common use of the INSTALL with COREQUISITES would be to install a new level of
the System Microcode data object with the CFG data object specified as a COREQUISITE.
The CFG data object should be sent to the site using the SEND function prior to specifying
it as a COREQUISITE.
• ACTUSE - This parameter specifies which type of activation (IML from Trial or Production)
may access the installed data object. It may be specified as ACTUSE = trial or ACTUSE =
production.
• DESTRUCTION – This parameter specifies whether or not the original data object may
be erased if the receiving LINCS node does not have enough disk space to receive the
new data object and keep a copy of the original data object. This parameter is valid only
when SEND = yes.
• DELNAME – This parameter specifies the canonical name of the data object to be deleted
if DESTRUCTION = allowed.
• DELMATCHIND – This parameter is valid only if DESTRUCTION = allowed. It is used
to further define tokens which were replaced by asterisks in canonical name of the data
object to delete. Refer to the Canonical Name Summary Table to see which tokens may
be replaced.
Remove Microcode
The REMOVE function is used to remove one or more data objects installed in Production
Removably or On-Trial. The corresponding Back-Level data object (if present) is changed to
the Production Non-Removably state.
If a data object has corequisite data object(s), the REMOVE function causes that data object
and its corequisites to be removed.
Partial naming is not allowed on the REMOVE function.
Accept Microcode
The ACCEPT function is used to move a data object from the Production Removably state to
the Production Non-Removably state. The Back-Level data object will be erased if the ACCEPT
is successful.
If the data object was originally installed with corequisite data objects, the ACCEPT function
will change the corequisites to the Production Non-Removably state as well.
Partial naming is not allowed on the ACCEPT function.
Activate Node
The ACTIVATE function is used to electronically IML a LINCS node. Data objects installed
On-Trial will be used for the IML if they exist; otherwise, Production level data objects will be
used.
An optional parameter with the ACTIVATE function specifies whether or not the activation
will occur if host sessions are active. Setting FORCE = yes will cause an IML to occur regardless
of whether or not sessions are active. Setting FORCE = no will cause the ACTIVATE to fail if
any session on any host circuit is active.
