EOF keys, then the alphabetic character C key. When you activate the calculator, LINCS
allocates memory for your display station. This means that you own the calculator session
until you either perform a Quit and Clear exit, or you power off your terminal.

A sample Calculator panel is shown below. When the panel is displayed, the cursor keys move
the calculator window. The calculator window position is maintained by LINCS. If the calculator
window placement is beyond the border of the lowest model size recognized by LINCS
configuration, the window is relocated to a default position on the display. This keeps the
calculator window within the screen boundaries of the lowest screen size model used.

Calculator Options and Functions

The PF function keys (PF1 through PF8) either select calculator options or perform the special
calculator functions described below. In this document , references to decimal point apply to
the period character or to the comma character, depending on the Numeric Delimiter option
you selected during configuration.

Selecting a Decimal Mode

The calculator provides an Auto or Fixed mode for decimal point placement. The PF1 key
toggles between the two modes. In Auto mode, decimal point placement is automatically set
for a predefined format that contains from 0 to 7 decimal places. Pressing the decimal key has
no effect. In Fixed mode, you use the decimal point key to enter a decimal point for each
number.

Selecting Decimal Places

The PF2 key cycles through the available decimal point placement formats. This function
operates only if the Auto Decimal mode operation is selected with the PF1 key. With Fixed
mode selected, the decimal place function is ignored.

Decimal places from 0 to 7 can be selected by pressing the PF3 key. The decimal places’ field
selection cycles from 0 through 7 digits, incrementing each time the PF3 key is pressed. All
data fields assume the decimal place format is selected, with all values truncated when cycling
from 7 to 0. The default is 2 decimal places.
