Restoring a Previously Backed Up Copy of LINCS
To restore all system microcode and configuration files to what they were prior to a microcode
upgrade, do the following steps. Be aware that if you attempt to restore the system and it has
not been previously backed up successfully as described above you may destroy the current
system microcode and configuration. It should be noted also that the restore procedure will
restore LINCS to the existence at the time of the backup, and that any changes made between
the original backup of LINCS and the restore will be lost.
1. Use your FTP client to connect and logon to the LINCS FTP server using the “BACKUP”
user name and the supervisor password.
2. Issue the FTP client’s SITE command with the parameter “RESTORESYS” in order to
copy the backup system files to the system directory (“quote site restoresys”). This
command will take approximately three minutes to complete. Take notice if the command
completed successfully (“command ok”).
3. Logoff and disconnect from the FTP server.
