mode, very little processing is done, depending on the additional configuration options. Two
options are available to modify the rate data is sent to the printer:
• Enveloping Delay after Carriage Return option defines the number of DEL characters,
X’7F’, to be sent after carriage return(CR) or horizontal tab (HT), to allow the print head to
be repositioned before sending more data.
• Enveloping Delay after Form Feed option defines the number of DEL characters, X’7F’,
to be sent when the host data contains form feed(FF) or vertical tab (VT).
LU1 Inbound ASCII Printer data: The inbound data from the ASCII printer (Keyboard
printer) is translated from ASCII to EBCDIC and sent to the 3270 host while the session is in
send state. All the inbound data is ignored while the session is not in the send state. As printer
data is processed from the receive queue one character at time, it is stored into the printer
device buffer(SIB). The printer data is sent to the host when either the device buffer is full or
the line turnaround character carriage return (CR) is received. For LU1 Protocol enveloping
inbound data translation, the NRC/MCS ASCII display tables will be used depending on the
printer configuration.

Calculator
LINCS provides a four-function nonscientific calculator to any directly attached CUT mode
display station. The calculator performs quick and accurate calculations without affecting
your host session. The calculator performs operations in decimal, hexadecimal or octal mode.
The calculator requires Feature Memory to be allocated, which is calculated while determining
the Presentation Space Storage.
To enter Calculator mode, press the Extended Select (Ex Sel) key, then the alphabetic character
C key (122-key keyboard). On 88/102-key keyboards, simultaneously press the Alt and Erase
