• System Profiles

A System profile is an arrangement of windows that can be accessed by any compatibly
sized and configured display terminal in the Communications Server’s network. A system
administrator can define and later modify up to three system profiles that are available to all
of the display stations attached to the 1174.

System profiles allow a system administrator to create an arrangement of windows that
meets the requirements of a specific group of users. For example, an accounting department
might use the window arrangement in Profile 1, while an MIS department would use the
window arrangement in Profile 2.

The system administrator defines the System profiles by accessing Test mode and giving
the password defined during configuration. Once a System profile is defined, users can
copy the profile into their User profile area, and then modify the profile as needed.

The sections that follow show procedures for defining and accessing system profiles.

• Defining System Profiles

To set up a system profile, follow these steps:

1.

Press the ExSel key and then the WSC key to enter WSC mode.

2.

Add, size, and move windows as necessary to create window arrangements for the
System profiles.

3.

Save the profiles by pressing the Save Profiles key in Setup mode. At this point, you
have defined user profiles.

4.

Press the WSC key to exit WSC mode.

Refer to the 1174 Communications Servers Operations Manual for instructions on how
to copy user profiles to the system profiles.

You can also copy system profiles to your own user profiles. Refer to the 1174 Communications
Servers Operations Manual for instructions on how to copy system profiles to user profiles.
