Ethernet Frame Analyzer Test Case
To create a Frame Analyzer test case:
1. Test configuration:
1a. Select
Ethernet 10/100/1000
or Ethernet 10G as the
Interface Type.
Interface Type is not
available with
FTB-8510G.
1b. For FTB-8510B: Select
the Topology test type: Single Port or Dual Ports. When Dual
Ports is selected, the Port, Framing, Network, and Pattern nodes
are independently available for both ports.
1c. Select Frame Analyzer as the application type.
1d. Select the Through Mode check box to enable Ethernet
bi-directional in-line traffic monitoring between two end points in
a non-intrusive manner using both FTB-8510B test ports. Stream,
alarm and error generation as well as Ping and Trace Route
capabilities are not supported. Through Mode is a software
option available on FTB-8510B only and needs to be enabled to be
available (refer to Software Options on page 355). Through Mode
testing is only available in Dual Ports topology. The Through
Mode check box is cleared by default.
