45. Measure all wear pad gaps. (Refer to Model 6036
Legacy Owners/Operators Manual for wear pad gap
dimensions and wear pad thickness requirements.)
Add or remove shims as required. Replace the wear
pads with new ones, if needed.
46. Check and adjust the boom chain.
47. Clean up all debris, hydraulic fluid, etc., in, on, near
and around the vehicle.
48. Connect the battery negative (-) ground cable.
49. Start the engine and operate all boom functions
several times. Check the chain tension again and
adjust as necessary. Check for leaks, and check the
hydraulic fluid level in the tank; add fluid if required.
50. Apply grease to all lubrication points (grease fittings).

51. Install the rear cover (Fig. 3-94, 1), by inserting the
capscrew (2) at the top of the cover into the hole (3)
in the top of the boom. Secure the rear cover using
one thumbscrew (4), one internal-tooth lockwasher
(5) and one flat washer (6).

WARNING:
Avoid prolonged engine
operation in closed areas without adequate
ventilation. Failure to properly ventilate
exhaust fumes can result in death or serious
personal injury.
WARNING:
Hydraulic oil leaking under
pressure can penetrate the skin and cause
severe personal injury. DO NOT use your hand
or any part of your body to check the hydraulic
leaks. When checking for hydraulic leaks, wear
safety glasses and gloves to help provide
protection from spraying hydraulic oil. Use a
piece of cardboard or paper to search for
leaks.
