Note: ALWAYS use new o-rings when servicing the
vehicle.
5. Install new o-rings into the fittings. Lubricate the o-rings
with clean hydraulic oil.
6. Working through the right dash panel opening,
connect the four hoses (Fig. 4 -12, 1-4) to the
appropriate ports, as noted in Step 8 of the removal
procedure.

7. Install the transmission travel and gear selector
lever. (Refer to Section 4.3.2, d. “Transmission Travel
and Gear Select Lever Installation”.)
8. Install the steering wheel. (Refer to Section 4.3.2, b.
“Steering Wheel Installation”.)
9. Connect the battery negative (-) cable at the battery
negative (-) terminal.
10. Carefully examine all connections one last time
before engine start-up. Rectify any faulty conditions.
11. Start the engine and check the operation of steering
system. Check for hydraulic fluid leaks. Check the
hydraulic fluid level in the tank and add fluid as
required.
12. Install the lower dash panel (Fig. 4-13, 1) and
secure with four button-head screws.

WARNING:
Hydraulic oil leaking under
pressure can penetrate the skin and cause
severe personal injury. DO NOT use your hand
or any part of your body to check for hydraulic
leaks. When checking for hydraulic leaks, wear
safety glasses and gloves to help provide
protection from spraying hydraulic oil. Use a
piece of cardboard or paper to search for
leaks.
