Sd-50/0, Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/40 Software Installation

There are three pieces of software that you may need to install on your computer to use the Sd-50/xx.

These are:

1)Mp3 Config.exe’: The Gilderfluke ‘Mp3 Config.exe’ program is used to configure what all the trigger in-

puts do, volume levels are, and all the other non-animation settings for the Sd-50/xx.

Unlike most Windows programs, this is a simple application that doesn't need to modify the operating

system in any way. Just unzip it (if needed) and drag it to the folder where you want it to live. If it is installed
by our installer program, it will be put in your C:/Programs/Gilderfluke/Mp3 folder.

If you are going to be using all the ‘default’ settings, and don’t need to turn off the amplifier or reorder

the sound files, you may not even need to use the ‘Mp3 Config.exe’ program.

2)GilderTerm.exe

This is the Gilderfluke & Company program that is used to talk to the Sd-50/xx through the serial port.

Although you can use any serial ‘terminal’ program with the Sd-50/xx, GilderTerm makes communications
easier as it has all of the GilderCommands built in. You just need to point it at the appropriate serial port.
The other communications settings are already set.

Unlike most Windows programs, this is a simple application that doesn't need to modify the operating

system in any way. Just unzip it (if needed) and drag it to the folder where you want it to live. If it is installed
by our installer program, it will be put in your C:/Programs/Gilderfluke/GilderTerm folder.

3)PC•MACs.exe’: This program is used to program the animation sequences that are used to control the digi-

tal (on/off) Show Control Outputs,

DMX-512

outputs, ServoMotor PWM outputs, etc.. If you aren’t pro-

gramming the animation outputs on a Sd-50/8 or Sd-50/40, you won’t be needing this program.

Detailed instructions for the PC•MACs program are found in the PC•MACs manual, which can be

downloaded from

www.gilderfluke.com

website.

Unlike most Windows programs, this is a simple application that doesn't need to modify the operating

system in any way. Just unzip it (if needed) and drag it to the folder where you want it to live. If it is installed
by our installer program, it will be put in your C:/Programs/Gilderfluke/PCMACs folder.

The software for the Sd-50/xx is distributed from Gilderfluke & Company on CD-ROM, or can be downloaded

from our

www.gilderfluke.com

website or emailed to you. If you download it or get it via email, it will probably be

zipped, and you will need to decompress it before it can be installed.

The Sd-50/xx Configurator program, ‘Mp3 Config.exe’, will need to moved to somewhere you can find it again.

Usually, this is in the same folder as the other Gilderfluke programs: ‘c:/Program Files/Gilderfluke/’. You will want to
add a shortcut to this on your desktop and/or ‘start’ menu. Do this by ‘left clicking’ in the Mp3 Config.exe and drag-
ging and dropping it on the desktop or ‘start’ menu. When you release the left mouse button, Windows will ask you
what you want to do there. Tell it to make a ‘shortcut’.
